I slept last night with the news that Chelsea's Jose had been fired and woke up this morning hoping it was a dream. I questioned myself asking why, what with unbelief.
If I was Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, I would ask myself why should I fire the most successful manager in my club's history this early in the season? Why would I allow a 'mutual consent' agreement such as this affect my club at this very time and what reasons would I have to do this? except to bully the 'Special one', and let every one know who is wearing the 'pants' in the club.
My pain is that Jose was not finished with his Chelsea revolution, he was still tinkering with the squad, he was building a team that would have stabilized and just because the 'Red one' wanted Shevchenko and Jose objected, he is booted out? Well maybe Jose should have given Sheva a fair shake, more chances or more starts to satisfy Mr Deep Pocket Red Roman Abramovich, maybe the 'Special one' should have listened to the 'Red one'. Maybe he should have quit earlier? But Jose is no quitter, he never has been. This is obvious now than ever, thats why he was fired.
Who wanted Jose out of the way? and why? His players did not want a change in guards, the fans just wanted the boardroom bickering between Owner and Coach to stop. I am just so miffed the 'Special one' was treated in this manner. To be candid, what does Roman Abramovich know about football; the man should just stick to oil commodities and aluminum or whatever else he does, there is no need to worry about coaching at Standford bridge.
While I agree that Jose was a not the most humble Portuguese guy around Stanford bridge, he was the most talented. I dare say that he matched his words with results; in just 3 years as boss on the Bridge he won six titles, in his first two seasons he won back to back Premiership titles for a club that had just one title to its name in over 100 years, and they still fired him? Who does Chelsea think they are? Real Madrid?
Jose will go on to more success maybe with the Portuguese National team or some other lucky team in one of the top leagues of the world, but what will happen to Chelsea? My prediction is that uncertainty will grip the club and but they will never get to surpass the Jose Mourinho era.
I wish every one at Chelsea what they deserve and salute the finest football mind of this generation.
But why am I so bitter? Why bother with this? Although I am a thorough and thorough Gunner, I am also a Jose fan.
'Adeus' Jose.
