As I watched your inauguration, I pondered on the goodwill that seemed to emanate off the faces of those that were gathered at the foot of the historic United States Congress Capitol; a sea of faces of every race, gender and creed.
As I saw you sitting in the front pew, on the right side of history, I imagined the weight that will (must) be on your shoulders. I was overcome with a range of emotions as I watched your wife, your daughters, your sisters and brothers, and all those who chanted from the mall and spaces between the Lincoln memorial and the steps of congress wishing you well.
I remembered the videos and pictures of the 'old' America, but this was quickly replaced by the images, messages of your movement and quest for this high office.
The music of the maestros YoYo, Itzak and McGill seemed to tell a story; a tale of uncertainty, but as they broke into a more optimistic tune, the clock clicked 12 noon and your tenure as the 44th President began.
President Barack Hussein Obama, Wow!!! At 12.05 you took the oath of office. Placing one hand on the ageless Lincoln Bible and the other raised in a solemn pledge to protect and lead. It was all worth it. Hail to the Chief plays and Change came to America.
Yes we can! Yes we have!!
The wind of Goodwill is behind you. Sail and ride Mr. President.
